Gakona Lodge is one of the oldest lodges in Alaska! The lodge has shared

cabins are also historic and have been recently remodeled.

During the Summer Solstice (Mid to late June) we have our famous "Half-Way to Christmas" and "Half-Way to New Years" parties. This building originated as the "Shower House" for the Army Corp of Engineers in 1942 when they were constructing the ALCAN Highway in response to the Japanese Invasion of the Aleutian Islands.
